Influences
As a child Geddes was fascinated with the Gumnut Babies by May gibbs and those images influenced Geddes photography. Her first job in New Zealand led her to fall in love with photography. She had to put Photography hold because she went through "normal" jobs. She went back to photography in the early 1980s.In 1986 Geddes began in her current style when she became familiar with studios in hong kong where she self taught and took pictures
of neighbors and friends . she was influenced to take pictures of babies because she adores them and thinks they represent the future and hope, she thinks of Them as brand-new citizens of the world, with no notions of hatred, racial bias, or religious intolerance. Since the day she picked up her camera she wanted to make her studio a child friendly zone.
